SACRAMENTO — The state Senate is holding an oversight hearing this morning on the Dec. two fire in Oakland that killed 36 people in an artists’ collective, the deadliest blaze in the nation since 2003.

The building did not have fire alarms, a sprinkler system or a fire escape.

The hearing will be webcast live at 9:30 in the morning today at and will be held in Room 112 of the Capitol. The fire discussion is expected to start after ten in the morning
